The goal of this Board is to develop and implement innovative, business-driven workforce partnerships in the Bluegrass that enable businesses and individuals to become productive and profitable. It is responsible for developing and monitoring the administration of federal Workforce Investment Act programs and funding. The majority of WIB members are representatives of the private sector nominated by local business organizations and appointed by ADD mayors and judges. Representatives of large employers, labor organizations, education groups, economic development agencies and others are also included. The WIB was established to fulfill requirements of the federal Workforce Development Act of 1998 and is administered by the ADD on behalf of the Bluegrass WIB.
