About Our Center
The Richmond Senior Citizens Center offers various activities to the senior citizen population of Richmond, KY. Monday thru Friday we offer a hot nutritious lunch meal. This meal is free to seniors in the community. However, if capable of doing so a donation is recommended and appreciated. There is no charge to participate in senior center activities. The only qualification to attend the center is that the individual most be 60 years of age or older. At the center throughout the week we offer recreation, health promotion, nutrition education, and other educational presentations on topics that are beneficial to seniors. Some of these topics might include but are not limited to information on Chronic Diseases, Fall Prevention, Living Wills, how to avoid scams, etc. The key aspect to our senior center is the sense of family that you receive while attending. Socialization is fundamental in acquiring overall well being. The RSCC also offers Home Delivered Meals to senior citizens who are unable to attend the center. Home Delivered Meals are delivered Monday-Friday at lunch time. In order to receive HDM’s the senior must be 60 years of age or older, Homebound, and either no longer capable of making meals for themselves, or not financially able to purchase the food that they need to maintain adequate nutrition. The RSCC also provides Homemaking services to seniors in the community. There is a waiting list for both Home Delivered Meals and Homemaking services. The Richmond Senior Citizens Center has a Ship Counselor on site every Thursday from 9am to 11:30am. The Ship Counselor can assist seniors in the community in applying for Medicare and Medicaid, plus much more. The Ship Counselor extends the hours that she is present during the Medicare Part D open enrollment period each year. We also offer information and referral daily to any senior in our community who needs assistance. Blood Pressure Screenings are offered twice monthly on the 1st Monday of the month and the third Thursday of the month at 10:30am. Nutrition Education is offered on the last Thursday of the month at 11:45am. Body Recall is held every Tuesday and Thursday at 12:30pm to 1:30pm. The Madison County Public Library Bookmobile stops at the center every other Thursday at 11:45am.

Transportation is offered to and from the center Monday-Friday for seniors that reside with in the City Limits of Richmond. Transportation to other appointments is not provided at this time.
