BLUEGRASS LOCAL WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT AREA PUBLISHES WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT (WIOA) LOCAL PLAN 2019 UPDATE FOR PUBLIC COMMENT
CENTRAL KENTUCKY—Today, the Bluegrass Local Workforce Development Area released the Bluegrass Workforce Local Plan (Local Plan) Revised and Updated for 2019 for a 14-day public comment period. This plan outlines the vision, goals and strategies for the 17-county WIOA programs, which are operated through the Kentucky Career Center – Bluegrass and the America’s Job Centers of Kentucky. The Local Plan update provides information on current initiatives and strategic goals for education and workforce in the Bluegrass area
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) requires each workforce development board (WDB) to develop and submit, in partnership with the local chief elected official, an updated local plan every two years to the Commonwealth of Kentucky. The Local Plan reflects the progress being made by the Bluegrass Local Workforce Development Area to encourage the continuing modernization of the workforce system and creation of a customer-centered system: where the needs of employers and jobseekers drive workforce solutions; where One-Stop Career Centers provide excellent customer service to all jobseekers and businesses; and where the workforce system supports strong regional economies, as well as alignment with updated State and local priorities.
As a part of the Area’s ongoing efforts to ensure community input and review the plan, the BGWIB seeks public input on or before Wednesday, November 6th, 2019. Please visit the following websites for access to the draft plan and the associated public comment forms: Regional Plan: http://www.bgwib.us/lp2019.
