INCUMBENT WORKER TRAINING
Incumbent worker training is designed to assist employers in providing their full-time employees with obtaining the skills necessary to retain employment or to avert layoffs while increasing both a participant’s and a company’s competitiveness in a high-demand sector. The Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass seeks to ensure that incumbent worker training is targeted to improving the skills and competitiveness of the participant and increasing the competitiveness of the employer.

INTERNSHIPS & WORK EXPERIENCE
While internships focus on getting job seekers the skills they need to secure full-time, permanent employment, they also provide a number of benefits to an employer who is willing to participate at no cost to the employer other than time. We cover the cost of the individual and their workman's compensation during this time.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING
During this training, employees are familiarized with the working environment they will become part of. Employees also get a hands-on experience using machinery, equipment, tools, materials, etc. Upon completion of the OJT the employer receives reimbursement for a portion of the training period.

Career center staff assist with posting vacancies ranging from entry-level to highly skilled professionals, conducting searches for qualified resumes, and recruiting full-time, part-time, and even seasonal workers. Each vacancy posted with the Career Center is reviewed to ensure it meets strict EEO standards.

The Kentucky Career Center - Bluegrass also provides Tailored Recruitment, a service that will save valuable staff time by doing the searches for a suitable candidate. Staff can provide workshops designed for a company’s individual needs, screening to ensure the right workers with the right skills are selected for interviews, as well as offering office space for on-site interviewing and training. Staff can perform assessments on potential applicants, host job fairs and specialized recruiting, assist with writing job descriptions, and offer virtual interviewing capability.
