About

The Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) is a regional planning and development organization serving
communities in central Kentucky. BGADD works in partnership with local governments, community leaders, and
state and federal agencies to strengthen the region’s economy, improve quality of life, and support long-term
community resilience.

Based in Lexington, BGADD serves the counties of Anderson, Bourbon, Boyle, Clark, Estill, Fayette, Franklin,
Garrard, Harrison, Jessamine, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford. As one of
Kentucky’s 15 Area Development Districts, BGADD provides technical assistance, regional planning, and program
administration services to help communities address shared challenges and pursue opportunities for growth.

BGADD’s staff bring expertise in grant administration, economic and community development, infrastructure planning, workforce development, and aging and independent living services. By working across jurisdictional
boundaries, BGADD helps local governments secure funding, coordinate regional strategies, and implement projects that individual communities may not have the capacity to undertake on their own.

Through collaboration, planning, program delivery, and project administration, BGADD supports the continued growth, resilience, and quality of life across the Bluegrass region
