Accessory Dwelling Units (ADU) offer creative opportunities for families caring for aging family members or persons with disabilities. Join us for a live community virtual event with guests from the LFUCG Senior Services Commission, local Lexington planning staff, and aging advocates to learn more about accessory dwelling units.

The webinar will explore expanding housing choices, how accessory dwelling units support smart growth, making communities more livable for people of all ages, and more affordable housing options across Fayette County.

Planning staff will highlight all of the work thus far in getting unanimous approval from the Planning Commission for an amendment to the zoning ordinance that will allow ADUs with special requirements.  Learn the next steps in the approval process to make ADUs possible in Fayette County.

Thursday, June 10 at 6:30 p.m. ET

Open to Everyone. Registration is required. For more information and to register, https://aarp.cvent.com/LexingtonADU102  or visit www.aarp.org/LexingtonADU. You may also register by phone, 1-877-926-8300. You’ll receive your Zoom link or dial-in to listen number with completed registration.

For many older Kentuckians and caregivers, ADUs can help promote independent living, increase affordable housing options and support families who want to keep loved ones close or who have a disability by enabling them to age in place.
