The City of Sadieville was recently awarded $180,000 in Discretionary Road Funds from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet Office of Rural and Municipal Aid. BGADD Transportation Planner Natalie Flores-Esquivel helped in the submission of the funding request, raised awareness of this transportation need to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and coordinated the requirements with the City.  The project will give an alternate route for emergency vehicles to avoid a sharp turn on Vine St. This is a hazardous obstacle to safety vehicles which resulted in a fire truck getting stuck in 2018, causing a house to burn down. Emergent hazards such as this can often be funded outside of the Six-Year Road Plan through discretionary funding from the Transportation Cabinet. For more information or assistance with your projects please contact Natalie at nfesquivel@bgadd.org or (859) 977-9415.
